Top 50 Handpicked Most Powerful Design Journals Directory Of The World

= 1000 hours of design education

Hey everyone,

This is Aayush, founder at INK PPT, providing you with the world’s best design resources through this newsletter, every Friday.

My source of education for learning design has always been self-learning.

I did not pursue a college degree in design, so I had to study from what was available to me.

Turns out, this self-learning has made my company the top 1% in my niche.

Today’s newsletter brings you an exclusive “Top 50 Handpicked Most Powerful Design Journals Directory Of The World” that would provide you the learning equivalent to 1000 hours of design education.

So, first things first:

Why you should read these design journals?

Backed by the experience of creative designers, design journals are the top source for information about design.

But there’s a misconception. We think the bigger the company, the better their publication. Surprisingly, this is false.

Mathematically speaking, the odds of a design journal making it to this top 50 list was 15:1. For every 15 publications I browsed through, I could only find 1 of them worth adding it in here.

Making up this list was therefore an extensive search among 750+ publications out of which these 50 have simply blown me away.

What you can learn in a Design Journal?

Whether you are a design / management student, a freelancer, or a professional specializing in UI / UX design, presentation design, branding, or graphic design, the list has the right direction for you to follow.

You will understand the basics of design in business, its role and impact conveying the word, how projects can go wrong with design negligence, and how businesses with a respect for designs soared to great heights.

Do you have any examples of good Design Journals?

1) Design Week in one of its publications talked about if university is the only way to get into design.

A fascinating read into both sides of the argument, with a convincing conclusion how “The world needs both the strategic and the technical to flourish”. Read more about it in the directory.

2) Slanted magazine talked about the growing demand for data visualization techniques, and how even versatile softwares built for it cannot provide what web and graphic design can.

A great source for understanding data visualization and the power design holds in creating new ways to do it. Follow Slanted magazine from the directory below.

3) We love Spotify as our music app, but what goes behind the scenes in the motion graphics we see on its app?

How does Spotify level up its user experience and push its boundaries by leveraging motion graphics?

A deep dive into the approach the brand takes in transforming its ideas to motion. Understand this in depth by accessing the directory below.

How to make the most of this Design Journals directory? And is it free?

The best way to utilize this knowledge base would be to immerse yourself in ONE publication per week. Don’t fret about it over the weekdays when you’re busy, but FULLY read one on a Saturday night or a Sunday morning.

Filter them out as per your industry / interests and be sincere in absorbing it.

This directory is completely free right now. I will be converting it to a paid one after I cross 200 publications on it.
